Toronto-based high-end multi-room music streaming resource Bluesound launched this week a limited-run Anniversary Edition of its NODE X streamer to mark its 10th anniversary.
The special edition NODE X, which carries a $749 suggested retail price ($999 Canadian) will feature a silver finish and “up-graded componentry” to “set a new standard” for wireless multi-room audio performance and functionality.
The limited-run model is now available now for purchase from authorized dealers and on Bluesound.com, the company said.
The company said NODE X Anniversary Edition will incorporate a high-performing ESS 9028Q2M Sabre DAC, which is well-known among audiophiles for its “musicality, near-zero levels of clock jitter, ultra-low noise, and a wide dynamic range,” Bluesound said.
A headphone amplifier is driven by the THX Achromatic Audio Amplifier (AAA) technology with feed-forward error correction to produce “infinitesimally low levels of noise, distortion, and power consumption,” according to Bluesound.
It also includes a quarter-inch headphone jack.
The NODE X includes enhanced dual band WiFi for what the company calls “best in-class wireless stream quality.”
The device supports access to more than 20 natively integrated music services and thousands of internet radio stations directly on the NODE X. It will also access personal music file libraries from a computer or external drive through the intuitive BluOS app for iOS, Android, or Mac/ Windows PCs.
Bluesound claims its BluOS platform is the only platform that can support up to 64 players, all streaming up to 24-bit/192kHz hi-res audio and supports lossless file formats and MQA playback, enabling listening to actual studio master-level quality from favorite albums.

The NODE X is equipped with a complement of inputs and outputs that bring music into the NODE X via HDMI eARC, Wi-Fi, Gigabit Ethernet, Apple AirPlay 2, aptX HD Bluetooth, or USB Type A.
The NODE X can be seamlessly grouped with multiple Bluesound speakers positioned around the home to create a multi-room music system. The NODE X is controllabe directly from a smart device or computer, touch panel controls with presets, voice assistants like Apple’s Siri, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, or by using the included RC1 Remote Control, with one-touch access to any Bluesound player within its proximity.
The NODE X can also integrate into a smart home with full-feature drivers for Crestron, Control4, URC, RTI, ELAN, and other popular home control systems.
