Blue Tiger Ships `World’s First’ Solar Powered Bluetooth Headset
Wireless headset developer Blue Tiger is now shipping what it has billed “the world’s first” solar-powered Bluetooth headset.
The Blue Tiger Solare headset is positioned for both professional and consumer on-the-go uses, offering hands-free driving attributes and multiple home or office uses indoors or outdoors.
The Solare headset can generate power from almost any light source, including indoor or outdoor lighting, and will provide continuous, virtually unlimited battery life.
Blue Tiger said the Solare headset is especially beneficial for “road warriors and professionals, including truckers, professional drivers, commuters, long distance travelers, customer service reps, delivery personnel, home office and office professionals for Zoom calls and training/education.”
The headset is said to be a “military-grade Bluetooth headset” combining solar energy technology with 97% noise cancellation technology and high-quality speaker components.
The headset incorporates a flexible solar cell supporting seamless driving and work communications use cases. The Solare continuously self-charges in the presence of a light source, eliminating concerns with battery life.
“We are very excited to ship the world’s first solar powered wireless communications headset to the market,” stated Chantal Saah, President, Blue Tiger USA. “Solare is changing hands-free communications, ensuring a safer driving experience and a cleaner, sustainable energy source for all, whether in the office, at home, or on the road. Solare is the first of its kind and we are very proud to introduce it.”
The technology involves use of patented Powerfoyle solar technology, an unusual nano material that transforms light into energy. The technology was inspired by the natural principle of photosynthesis to harvest light, the company said, and includes a thin, non-toxic, printed, flexible plastic solar cell with zero emissions production, durable for comfortable long-time use. The headset can use light directed from a wide variety of angles and works equally well indoors or outdoors, the company said.
