Despite the growth of the cord-cutting trend across the country, AT&T revealed Monday in a somewhat low-key way that it has raised rates for new subscribers to its DirecTV satellite TV and AT&T TV (new premium live streaming) services by listing higher monthly rates on the AT&T and DirecTV websites.

The changes, which were first reported Monday by TVanswerman.com, show new higher first-year monthly subscriber rates for the traditional DirecTV and AT&T TV services. The company, however, did not show higher monthly fees for the live streaming service, AT&T TV Now (formerly known as DirecTV Now), or for existing DirecTV and AT&T TV customers.

The new rates effectively end the $10 per month lower rates AT&T began offering new customers to DirecTV and AT&T TV Now in February. AT&T is no longer taking new orders for U-verse.

The company’s web sites show that new subscribers to DirecTV now must pay $59.99 a month for the first year for the Select channel tier (155 channels), up from the previous $49.99 per month; $69.99 a month for the first year of its Choice tier (185 channels), up from $59.99 a month; $79.99 a month for the Xtra tier, up from $69.99; and $84.99 a month for the first year of the Ultimate tier (250 channels), up from $74.99 a month previously.

DirecTV’s plans require a two-year agreement. After the first 12 months, the monthly rate rises to $85 a month for Select; $115 a month for Choice; $131 for Xtra; and $142 for Ultimate. The second-year rates remain the same for both DirecTV and AT&T TV. DirecTV also offers access to NFL Sunday Ticket service for a separate subscription free.

As in the past, DirecTV subscribers are also expected to pay extra for local taxes, Regional Sports Channels and equipment fees.

AT&T also raised the first-year price for the new live internet streamed AT&T TV service, which is replacing the old U-verse telco TV service and will ultimately replace the DirecTV satellite service.

AT&T TV’s first-year fee for the Entertainment tier is now $59.99 a month, up from $49.99, with a two-year agreement; the Choice tier is now $64.99 a month for the first year, up from $54.99 a month; the Xtra package is now $74.99 a month, up from $64.99 a month and the the Ultimate tier is now $69.99 a month, up from $79.99 a month for the first year.
