Amazon is preparing to ship the next generation of Toshiba-branded 4K LED-LCD Fire TVs for 2021 in five screen size models.
The C350 series lineup will include the 43-, 50-, 55-, 65-, and 75-inch screen sizes. The 43- ($369.99) and the 50-inch ($469.99) models will be available first — starting tomorrow (May 12th) — exclusively on Amazon or through Best Buy stores.
Amazon first announced the TVs through a blog last week. These are affordably priced basic- feature and performance-level televisions.
The Fire TV OS will allow connecting smart home devices including Amazon/Alexa compatible surveillance cameras to monitor activity at the front door or in a baby’s room. This is conveniently presented in an inset screen overlaying a TV programming being watched using a Live View Picture-in-Picture feature.
Amazon explained that these features can be voice activated by pressing the mic button on the Fire TV remote and triggering Alexa by saying, for example, “Alexa, preview my front door camera” to call up an inset frame over the top of a TV program to view what’s going on outside.
