Amazon kicked off its early Black Friday promotions today, as part of a national trend that is extending the Holiday promotional sales season.
The e-commerce dealer plans to offer a special Black Friday store page until December 22. The sale began today with six one-day-only offers including LG’s 55-inch OLED Full HD TV (1920×1080 resolution with standard dynamic range) for $999. Its everyday selling price is $1,488.

Amazon said it will add more sales as the day progresses, with new deals appearing as frequently as every five minutes.

Amazon is joining a national trend among top retailers looking to capitalize on shopping mania that has typically occurred on the Friday following Thanksgiving Day. In recent years, retailers have started extended sales both earlier and later into the holiday shopping season.
This year, Amazon is offering Prime members a 30-minute jump start on some of its daily “lightning deals” in the Black Friday section, as an additional incentive to join the etailer’s membership program that includes various entertainment streaming privileges as well as free shipping on Amazon purchases.
