Amazon has expanded its family of Amazon-built Omni 4K QLED Fire TV series models with three smaller screen options, and has added a new entry level Fire TV Series of affordable HD and Full HD models.
Amazon’s new Fire TV series, called the Amazon 2 Series Fire TVs, have 32- and 40-inch LED-LCD screen sizes with 720p HD / 1080p Full HD resolution, respectively, and HDR support. Prices start at just $199.99.
In introducing the new models, Amazon said it has sold more than 200 million Fire TV devices globally, including both streaming media players and smart TVs. For clarity, Amazon’s own-branded Fire TVs are developed and designed by Amazon for manufacturer by OEM factories.
Amazon said its 4K Omni QLED Fire TV 4-Series (pictured at top), and the new Fire TV 2-Series models are available now or for pre-order (depending on the model) in the United States and for the first time in the United Kingdom, Germany, and Mexico as well.
Amazon’s Omni QLED Fire TV Series is launching in three new, smaller sizes including 43- ($449.99), 50- ($529.99) and 55-inches ($599.99). The televisions will each present the Fire TV “Ambient Experience” in addition to Fire TV smart streaming, providing secondary applications for the TV when not in use to watch television programs. The new smaller screen size options are also well suited for placement in more rooms of the home.
The 4K Omni QLED models are available for pre-order starting today on Amazon.com. They will also be available at Best Buy starting May 11, 2023, the company said.

The Amazon 4K Omni QLED Fire TVs include the use of quantum dot color enhancement film in the LCD TV panel stack to present more natural appearing colors with wide color gamut coverage. In addition, the model series supports advanced high dynamic range (HDR) profile support including: Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+ Adaptive, HDR10 and HLG. The 43-inch version uses direct-lit LED LCD backlighting. The larger screen size models include full array LED backlighting, for greater contrast control.
The LCD panels have a native 60Hz refresh rate. Inputs include 3 HDMI 2.0 ports and one HDMI 2.1 with eARC/ARC support.
An Adaptive Brightness feature helps the Omni QLED Fire TVs automatically optimize the brightness of movies and shows to the room lighting through the use of a built-in light sensor and auto processing system.
In addition, the “Ambient Experience” available through the smart TV platform turns the TV into “an always-smart device by using the power of Alexa to show you glanceable information like your calendar, weather, and beautiful gallery-quality images when not streaming movies or TV shows,” the company said.
Amazon announced that starting today, the Ambient Experience has added hundreds of new images to its collection of more than 1,700 free gallery-quality pieces of artwork – with no monthly subscription required.
Coming later this year, the Ambient Experience will also feature dynamic art, a new art concept that adapts to the current environment. Based on factors including time of day, temperature, weather, and more, dynamic art responds to its surroundings to display unique, personalized pieces of art that are always evolving.

Both models support high definition resolution and direct-lit LED LCD backlighting and native 60Hz refresh rate panels. Amazon said these models are designed to offer strong value for screen sizes suited to secondary room applications, like bedrooms and dorms. Available now, the Fire TV 2-Series will also offer small screen size options and some advanced features including support for HDR10 and HLG high dynamic range (HDR), along with Dolby Digital Audio. Inputs include two HDMI 1.4 inputs and 1 HDMI port with ARC.
