The story was inspired by true events concerning explorer Hugh Glass (DiCaprio) on his quest for survival and justice. After a brutal bear attack, Glass is left for dead by a treacherous member of his hunting team (Tom Hardy; Mad Max: Fury Road). Glass battles a relentless winter in uncharted terrain.

The Blu-ray includes the documentary “A World Unseen,” about the vision behind The Revenant, which is based in 19th century America, and parallels various elements found in the world today.

Meanwhile, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment will release Star Wars: The Force Awakens in April, according to Walt Disney Co. CEO Bob Iger’s announcement at the company’s recent shareholders’ meeting. At the time of the announcement, The Force Awakens had generated $926.5 million in domestic box office revenue and almost $2.05 billion globally since its December release.

The movie will be available in a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack for a $39.99 suggested retail and a $19.99 pre-order price or as a standalone DVD for $29.99. No 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray or 3D Blu-ray Disc options were announced.
