Updated-3/2/2013
We’ve put together the first comprehensive list of Samsung’s 2013 LED LCD and plasma offerings. These models will begin shipping within the next few days and throughout March and April. We expect a few more series from Samsung, such as its 4K S9 85-inch model, the winner of the 2013 HD Guru CES Best In Show Award, to arrive a later this year.
Prices came from industry sources, as Samsung will not provide specific features or specification details until the official launch later this month.
Please note prices are subject to change prior to these models hitting the showroom floors.
There’s a lot of big news from Samsung this year in terms of real picture improvements and new features. The latter includes improved speech recognition, Trackpad remote control, TV generated program recommendations (Samsung calls S-recommendation), and more. We’ve listed the major features, details and prices after the below.
Plasma
For 2013 Samsung has split the plasma line-up. Its top-of-the-line F8500 series are fully-featured and equipped with new panels that should offer greatly improved picture performance.
Robert Zohn of Value Electronics informed us Samsung just dropped its UPP price on the F8500 models by $200 and he expects them to arrive by March 18 . The 51-inch PN51F8500 is now priced at $2199.99 $1999.99, the 60-inch PN60F8500 at $3199.99 $2999.99 and the 64-inch PN64F8500 at $3699.99 $3499.99 Samsung claims to have dramatically increased the contrast ratio of its 2013 flagship line by making the blacks much deeper and the whites 2.5 times brighter.
On the features side, there’s new Internet content search, a faster processor with quad-core, a pop-up (for privacy) HD camera for Skype video calls, improved gesture and speech recognition combined with its new Smart Touch touchpad remote control.
We feel that based on these specs and what we’ve already seen in person, the F8500 series is likely going to be one of the best combinations of HDTV performance, price, and features for this year.

Hey, thanks for the response. Unfortunately I missed out on this years CES :(
I was referring to the F7500 LED though.. Its not listed on here with the other LEDs, so thought maybe Samsung decided to scratch that model off their list as well. Sorry for not being more specific on the model. I appreciate the reply though :)
@Anthony5362
I don’t think there will be a F7500 Plasma for 2013, I was on the show floor at CES and I didn’t see one in the Samsung area.
A few Samsung Representatives also mentioned that Samsung was intent on reducing redundant TV lineups in lieu of future HDTV technologies like OLED.
In a way it makes sense considering that previous PNxxx7500 models were identical to the 8000′s, save for the “deep black panel” and novelty features (some of which could be unlocked if you were dabbled into the hidden service menu).
Any word on release dates and prices of the 40″ TVs?
Someone on the AVforum.com in the UK posted the price for the 75″ F8000 for Italy, so maybe the US prices will be soon. I know they never release the larger sizes until June/July usually.
What about the 75F8000? Any price or release date? Any thoughts on improvement over the 75es9000?
Hey guys,
any info on the Evo kit yet? Honestly, is this kit going to make the ES8000 picture quality any better, or is it just going to bring faster speeds and more Smart Hub features? Also would love to know the price, or atleast an a “approximate ” price that its expected to be??
Thanks,
Anthony
any news on the evolution kit pricing and availability.
Thanks Anthony, but to be clear all I did was update the launch date and lowest compliant UPP prices for the F8500 PDP series. The article is excellent and perfectly accurate.
Yes Samsung will launch the the F7500 series LCD/LED in 46″, 55″ and 60″ by mid April. No F7500 PDP.
-Robert
Thanks goes out to you guys and Robert @ Value Electronics for posting this.
Question though, is the F7500 not being released this year? I don’t see that listed so not sure now
Thanks,
Anthony
