Got the 67 Samsung LED DLP for 1299.99 on March 28th. They were on sale for 1499.99 but it was the last one so they gave me 200.00 off the display model. 299.00 for a 3 year in-home service warranty sounded like a good deal and they financed the whole shebang so now I owe 1728 with tax. Says it's 3-D ready so hope to find out more. For now I have Directv HD DVR, Sony Blu-Ray and Samsung DVD recorder with VHS player and Pioneer Laserdisc player going into it so I think I've made some real progress since the Super Bowl when I had no 1080P or any kind of HD and no Blu-Ray!

Conn's here in TX now has the 67" LED DLP for 1699.99 which is the lowest in store price I have seen and similar to Amazon and others price once tax is included. Still I got the 61 for 758.00 cheaper with tax. I also went ahead and got the Toshiba 42xv545u when it was on sale for 799.99 so I basically got both these for what this 67 would cost! Since Samsung is ceasing production of this kind of TV it makes me wonder how good it really is but for now it looks like the best deal I have ever made on a TV! If the 67 comes down a bit more and I have the money I may still get it if I can justify it so keep us informed!

OK, I got the 61 LED DLP today and had to go to Carrolton to pick up, only 30 miles away to avoid 80.00 delivery fee. Circuit City was still over 1500.00, Best Buy was out of it as is Crutchfield but Conn's still had it new in box for 1079.99 with tax. Much better than the 3800.00 I paid for Mitsubishi Diamond 65" 8 years ago plus 700.00 for HD tuner that was nothing more than a Directv HD receiver, 500.00 for 5 year warranty and 200.00 for shipping. I actually thought I got a good deal back then as it was 5000.00 in stores but today I am sure I got a good deal! Thanks to HD GURU and all whose comments gave me the knowledge to go for this one!

I put my 61" in the basement and I have a very big room there. I was watching DVD (not HD) series of "Planet Earth". I can tell you that you get the best picture if you sit far enough from the TV (more than 9 feet). I actually had it about 12 feet away from the couch. So for the bedroom I think 42 LCD makes more sense than 61". Go to the store and look at the picture from the distance you are planning to watch and see how it looks. That is all that matters in my opinion.

Not bad at all and I guess you got a $200.00 NFL gift certificate also. The guy I talked to at Best Buy seemed to indicate that they would not go below Conn's 999.99 price but might match it so the guy that got it for 940.00 seems to have gotten very lucky! Now Conn's has Toshiba's top of the line 42xv545u for only 799.99 plus tax. Crutchfield has it at 999.99. I may get one of these this week so which do you all think is the better long term deal? The 61 DLP would be for living room while the 42 LCD would be for bedroom. How much better picture is the Toshiba which has 120Hz vs the LED DLP which Alex says may be discontinued?

My TV from crutchfield will be delivered today. Glad I got it as they discontinued it, and so far it was the lowest price for me (I live in Upstate NY). So no one in my area is cheaper than that. Even though it was back ordered, they filled the order in less than a week which was amazing.

For all of you who did not get one yet, be careful how long you wait. I read the editor's review on Cnet, where he said that they may discontinue DLP this year all together...as a result, no new series will be available, and nothing to drive the price down further. So when few TVs will be left, the prices may start climb back up!

Conn's are all over here in D/FW, Texas and the LED 61" is at 999.00 for the 2nd straight week so maybe you should cancel your Crutchfield backorder. You will have to pay tax and carry it home of course but that is 230.00 cheaper, maybe more if you get that Best Buy match plus deal!

You need to remember that Samsung has 61" with LED and Lamp technology. First one is the 7th generation, the second is the 6th. You need to make sure that $999 is for the right one. Also, BestBuy only matches the price of stores in your area. They won't match anything from on-line or if it is in store that 3 hours away...

That is pretty slick! Circuit City may not even beat that. Hopefully I'll have the money in March to find out!
