Hi:

My 50″ Pioneer HD just went on the blink. No picture and the LED light goes back and forth between red and green, and between on and standby. My warranty just ended, of course, so I am looking to either fix the unit or purchase another one. I am looking between Plasma and an LCD. I think I have figured out the differences. But would like confirmation. My understanding is that if you purchase an LCD above 40″, which I would be, you need to have at least 1080p and 120hz. Is this correct?

I have a Pioneer PDP5080 HDTV that is two years old. It has been great until yesterday. While watching tv, the power light will suddenly flash blue and the picture disappears. It is programmed into a universal remote control that also controls the DVD and Receiver. What is causing this?
