Update 2/4/11: Retail prices now reflect a recent change + TC-PVT30 series prices added.

Thanks to a well-placed source we’ve got the industry’s first 2011 TV pricing and availability. Panasonic’s 2011 line totals 30 models of plasma, LED LCD and LCD televisions.

The 2011 Panasonic plasmas offer new performance levels, styling, features and screen sizes. Plasma now offers three multiple-model 3D series, with the two top lines (VT30 and GT30 respectively) including THX 2D and 3D certification, sleeker style, improved black levels, faster phosphors brighter images and higher energy efficiency. They replace the 2010 VT25/VT20 and GT25 lines.  We were so impressed by the improvements of the highly rated VT series models we awarded them the HD Guru Top Picks CES 2011 Awards for Best 3D TV and Best in Show.

Panasonic also added an inch to 54-inch class plasmas making them 55″ and two inches to the 58 inch, now 60 inches diagonal.

In LED LCD Panasonic is offering its first 3D models in the 37 and 42 inch class, geared towards gamers. The DT30 series’ other improvements include a new Alpha IPS panel for deeper blacks, and wide viewing angles, 240 Hz refresh, ISF calibration mode and WI-Fi (with included adapter)

Panasonic expanded its 2D LED line from two to four series with nine models (up from three in 2010).

In LCD there are now four series made up of six models including a new 24″ screen size.

Below are all the new models with Panasonic’s suggested retail prices and arrival dates along with a list of the top features for each series. As usual for the TV biz, you may expect discounting when the sets arrive at retail.

Please explain floating blacks and THX cert.

  • Bobby

I think you meant to say 32″ in the DT30 model range, not 42″.

  • aron

I would like to know about the “VT35 Kuro” that i’ve heard will be released later in the year….

  • MC

minus the THX certification, wi-fi, and I’m assuming more picture options, it would seem that the GT and ST are the same exact TV and would offer nearly identical picture quality sicne they;re using the same panel. Weird.

  • SVT

Floating blacks aren’t an issue with the vt and gt series. Seems to be an issue with the g’s and below. eh…

  • Nick

you said a 60 inch vt30 was in the future instead of a 58″. what will be the price

  • Michael

    So there’s no 65″ S2 replacement?

  • LtColBuckRobley

So would it be better to buy an older model plasma at a clearance price or wait on one of the newer ones?

  • Indy

Is a site to get the updates between the older Panasonic panels (plasma) to the new ones.

  • Steve

So I guess this means Panasonic is getting rid of their 2D versions of the V and G series.

List for the TC-P65VT30 is $4299.99 and will begin shipping by the end of May 2011.

List for the TC-P55VT30 is $2799.99 and shipping will begin by the end of April 2011

Hmm wonder if the Panasonic VT30 / GT30 will be the best 2011 TV’s out there period like the VT25 was in 2010 (and V10 was in 2009).

Also wonder if the black levels on them will finally surpass the last model Kuro’s…

  • Vinny VIn

    yea really

  • Mc

The new plasmas look promising, but the question is…. Has Panasonic fixed the floating blacks?
