I bought a Plamsa TV got it delivered only to be told that I cannot open box up till I have taken ownership of it by signing the delivery manifest, I took a good look over box and all looked good, so I signed for it, only to open box up and find a ruddy great crack across the screen, and no delivery man anywhere now stuck with a $4000 Pioneer plasma thats as usless as a chocolate tea pot! SO BEWARE WITH HOME DELIVERY you cannot open box up till it is signed for, most delivery companys have this as a condioton on there T's & C's. AGHHHHH

Best Buy, more specifically a Magnolia inside a Best Buy accepted my damaged TV with no problem. In Fact most of the Magnolia Home Theaters I stop by are quite pleasant to deal with. They are more competitive because they carry more high end product but are not annoying commissioned salesmen (Did you know that they are not on commission?). Just find a Best Buy with a Magnolia Home Theater and look for the guys with the name tags that say MAGNOLIA. They'll take care of you. These guys make more than most of the other employees so they have plenty of pressure to keep you happy.

I purchased a Sharp 46" Aquos LC-46D64U approximately two weeks ago. It worked fine for two weeks. Then suddenly a thin, horizontal line appeared across the set. Sharp has said they will send a service technician out. I purchased the set from Sears. Should I wait to see what the Sharp service tech. finds. Or should I pack it up and take it to Sears since it is less than 30 days and demand my money back or an exchange. How has this tv rated? Thank you for your help.

Great site. Learned alot through it and will continue to read.
I have to disagree with you on this one though. I bought a Samsung 4671 from Best Buy and found a huge scratch down the screen. I went back to the BB store and they told me to bring it in and they replaced it on the spot, no questions asked. I was delighted that this was their policy. When i got the TV home, it wasnt working right. Two weeks later i decided once again to take it back. I traded it in for a Sony XBR4. With the Customer Service and the friendly disposition of the employees that helped me, I have concluded that BB has changed their ways and truely cater to their customer base. They have won me over and actually proved to me that the 4 year service plans are worth getting because TVs can break down.

Wish i'd read your buying info beforehand, hope you still don't list Value Plasma, as this company is a scam. Found a website that has photos of all the bogus electronic web site stores in NY city. Most of them are closed, moved or homes. To the guru fi you need this website, contact me. You were right about the return policies of these places, why would they want something that dosen't work right being returned back to them...GO FIGURE

GURU,

THANK YOU! I have learned more anout HDTV on this site than everywhere else I have ever looked. BUT I still can not decide! I live for watching sports (hockey and football) and playing PS3. While I began leaning toward an LCD I have been swayed by the reviews of the Pansonic TH-50P2700U and now the 750. Then I stumbled upon this model but couldn't find much info on it! Panasonic TH-50PF10UK 50" Plasma Display - If you had to choose between the three sets, what would you do?? I'm Willing to SPend about 3 grand and just want to make the right choice. My first was the SONY 46 XRB LCD but somehow I'm now on the plasma trip PLEASE HELP ME!?!?!?!?!

When I purchased my first HD set last spring, I went with Crutchfield and boy am I glad I did. Detailed information on each set. White glove delivery service that was everything I expected. Superb before and after-purchase support, just give your order number and you have unlimited help from their very knowledgable people.

No, it wasn't the cheapest, but I honestly feel I got one heck of a deal when all was said and done.
Do your own research folks and at least check them out. (No, I don't work for them either.)

Well I can attest to Circuit City having a nice return policy. Recently purchased a Sony 46" XBR4 and had it for a few days before returning it (still can't deal with LCD black levels so it is plasma time for me) and it was very easy/fast without incident.
