First Close-Ups of LG’s 55-Inch OLED HDTV- HD GURU Exclusive

February 25th, 2012 · 2 Comments · 3D HDTV, News, OLED

HD Guru managed to take several close up  photos of  LG’s  upcoming  white OLED 55-Inch HDTV (55EM9600) at the recent CES, much to the dismay of the dozen or so LG personnel that keep shooing other photographers away from it.  We bring you three different snaps with varied source material.

While these photos can’t truly convey how vivid this OLED produced HD images, you can clearly see how  inky dark the black pixels are compared to brightly lit adjacent ones. The photos also shows how deeply saturated  the colors are at the pixel level, as well as  in our full screen photo  here.

These snapshots will have to do until we can pry more answers from LG sources regarding availability, price and production specifications. Stay tuned.

I’d like to see LG double the scan lines to accomodate the interlaced 3D I think they use, rather the alternate screens like the others. That would counter Samsung’s “complaints” about LG’s 1/2 HD resolution for 3D.
I guess that would be 1/2 way to Quad HD. Fine by me. :)
