3net 3D Debuts on DirecTV- First Review

Last night at 8:00pm, DirecTV launched the latest all 3D network, 3net on channel 107. The new network is a partnership between Discovery, Sony and IMAX. HD Guru viewed the first three programs on a Panasonic TC-P50GT25 50-inch 1080p 3D Plasma . All were documentaries, broadcast in the side-by-side 1080i format.

Back in July 2010 we wrote about an upcoming one piece solution that will allow the 700,000 owners of legacy Samsung DLP rear projectors to view 3D content from  cable, satellite and Blu-ray 3D disc on their 2007 and 2008 model year HDTVs (link). A kit is now available directly from Mitsubishi.

THX Announces A 3D Content Certification Program
