I am looking for a 46″ set – the Panasonic 2008 models pz850u can be had for close to $1200, hard to pass up or should I wait for the 2009 models? I won’t even be able to get the 46S1 in the same ballpark but is the improved power consumption and other features (neo-pdp) worth sacrificing some of the other features of the pz850u? Also- does anyone know yet if they will upgrade the pz850u viera cast to include the Amazon videos for the 2008 models?

A Panasonic spokesperson says all past and present Viera Cast models will be upgraded as new services are added.

Can someone help me? What is the difference between Panasonic TH46PZ850U and TH46PZ85U? I cannot tell what the difference is except for pricing. I need enlightenment.

Recently had an oportunity to purchase LG60PG60 for 2399.99 Can w 4yr extended warranty. Was interested in purchasing a Sony Sharp or Samsung, however price range considerably higher even on clearance. This model originally sold for 3499.99 Can warranty worth 499.99 basically 1899.99 for tv a little to good to resist. But still can’t help but be questioning brand or quality. Your comments.

Talking to a Panasonic Tech today, the V-Series will be out in July. This will be the Flagship follow up to the 850u, THX Certified – and cheaper than the Z1 which I was told will have no apparent differences in quality, only design.

Whatever price it is for pana plasma, not important in my opinion. We will be using it for years to come, buy one because of pricing is not a smart move, go buy a chinese made then. Buy one with real good quality so that you won’t regret tomorrow for today saving.
Go grab a Kuro before the shelves ran out of stock.

Is Panasonic still releasing 58″ V and S models this year?

I had my eye on the Panasonic TC-26LX85 at Christmas time- the only brick & mortar near me (Sears) that stocked them ran out of them and they never came back. It was top rated by Consumer Reports and I suspect that caused a shortage.

Am interested in whether the 2009 26″ will be as good; the 2008 model had the IPS panel.
